The Silver Broncos traveled south Last night and improved their record to 6-1 on the year. The young group rolled to a 28-6 victory over the Buttons in impressive fashion. Once again, the Broncos came out of the gate strong scoring on their first possession after the defense stifled Central to a quick three and out. Jashaun Manghane connected with Cameron Hamilton on a 22 yard pass play to get the scoring started and take the 7-0 lead.
The defense continued their dominance in the second quarter led by the strong defensive line play from James Seale, Jack Lanham, Evan Perry, and a host of others. The offense would strike the Buttons again on a wide receiver screen to Kadyn Martinez that he would weave through great blocking in space to score the game’s second touchdown.
In the third quarter, there were more fireworks from the Bronco Offense as Caleb Santana took a bubble screen to pay dirt from the arm of Peyton Flanagan. The defense continued to swarm the football as the linebackers, Trapper Goodwin, Rylan Norwood, and Braden Walker chased ball carriers sideline to sideline.
In the final period, the Buttons finally were able to get on the board late in the game to prevent the shutout, but the Bronco offense was not done either. Jashaun Manghane plunged over the line for a 4 yard score to cap off the afternoon.
Next week the Broncos will travel back to College Station for a rematch with the Katy Jordan Warriors as the Warriors will try to avenge their loss earlier in the year.
