Boys Bronco Football · Broncos Players of the Week vs. Central Catholic

The Broncos traveled down I 35 for a long road trip on Thursday to take on the Central Catholic Buttons at Bob Benson stadium in downtown San Antonio.  The Lake show was able to improve to 6-1 in their inaugural season by taming the Buttons 42-2.  The lop sided contest had many standout performers led by these four young men who earned players of the week honors.

Offensive Player of the Week- Tristan Robin

Tristan had a break out night where he exploded to 198 yards rushing on just 11 carries.  He took the first hand-off of the game up the left side and then down the sideline for a long touchdown run and led the Broncos to never look back.  The sophomore ended up with 4 touchdowns on the night!

Defensive Player of the Week- Connor Brennan

As explosive as the offense was, the defense was just as dominant only giving up 100 yards of total offense and holding the Buttons to 0 offensive points.  Connor Brennon led this charge with 8 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 1 sack, and 2 QB pressures.

Special Teams Player of the week- Ty Legg

This freshmen continues to contribute mightily to the Bronco cause primarily on defense, but also covering kicks on Special Teams.  Ty finished the game with 7 tackles, a few of them coming in the kicking game which helped keep the Buttons from establishing any field position.

212 Player of the Week- Micah Hudson

Micah brought the extra degree in the effort category this week as he played a role in every phase of the game.  The freshmen scored an offensive touchdown taking a screen pass to the house on the second play from scrimmage.  He contributed on special teams highlighted by a human highlight reel punt return that unfortunately was called back by a questionable block in the back call.  And, finally he contributed on defense recording 5 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 1 sack, and 4 quarterback pressures.  He will be carrying out the huge 212 flag this week as the Broncos head back to College Station for a neutral site rematch against fellow new school, Katy Jordan.
