The Lake Belton Bronco junior varsity boys’ basketball lost their final game of the season to Jarrell High School by the final score of 45-56. The Broncos were coming off of an 11 day break since their last game on February 9th. The game was competitive from start to finish, but foul trouble and poor free throw shooting ultimately led to the Broncos not being able to close the gap. Lake Belton trailed by eight points at halftime but came out strong in the third quarter to cut Jarrell’s lead to six. The Broncos closed the gap to four points halfway through the fourth quarter, but strong free throw shooting by Jarrell helped build back their lead.
Lake Belton will end their season with an 8-19 record and look to build on the experience that was gained in playing a varsity schedule this season. The Broncos will return all of their players and look to contend for a playoff spot in 2021-2022.
