The Lake Belton Varsity team concluded the 2020-2021 season on Saturday against Jarrell High School. It was great to be back on the court one last time, especially after a hard week of battling power outages and limited water and supplies in some areas. I have great respect for all of the players and how they have responded to adversity all season long. We successfully completed a challenging basketball season and learned how to compete and play together through the good and the bad. The daily attitudes and effort on display has been encouraging and we are confident that the future is bright for Bronco Basketball.
Many of our players will now move on to their spring sports and I cannot wait to watch them continue to compete and rise up. I encourage all of our players to participate in multiple sports. Track is a great spring sport to be involved with, because it encourages the athlete to compete with others, as well as, the athlete as an individual. Information will be sent out by Coach Hooton as to when track practices will be held.
This week will look a little bit different, as we are working to get students back on campus. We will follow the schedule provided for this week when we return to school. If on-campus learning does not take place on these days, we will send out an updated schedule for the week.
Most freshmen and junior varsity players have returned all of their issued equipment, but for those that have not, they will need to be returned on Tuesday, February 23rd during the athletic period.
Varsity players will return all of their issued equipment on Tuesday during 5th period. We will also have a team meeting during this time.
Please be on the lookout for new information regarding a return to school and any updates with the weekly schedule.
