Girls Junior Varsity Track, Girls Varsity Track · GIRLS TRACK CONTINUES THEIR CLEAN SWEEP


`The girls track and field team traveled to the Salado Eagle Relays Thursday, March 11th and swept both the Varsity and JV divisions. Varsity’s overall team score was 252 points with the next closest opponents being Salado with 207 points. The junior varsity team brought in 255 points with Salado being the next team up with 139 points.

Big pointers for the night were Sydni Cartwright competing in 5 events bringing in a 2nd place finish in high jump, 3rd place finish in long jump, 5th place finish in 100MH, 5th in the open 400, and 2nd in the 4X4. Layloni Watson was also racking in the points for the varsity team competing in 4 events. Layloni went 2nd in triple jump, 1st in the 100MH, 1st in the 300MH, 2nd in the 4X4. The varsity 4X2 continued to put on a show bringing in the gold and dropping their time to an official 1:49.26 the team consists of Emily Bachicha, Klesha Middleton, Hanna Peebles, and Tristen Oliphant.

JV big pointers of the night were Dylan Presley competing in 5 events. Dylan won high jump, 2nd in long jump, 2nd in the 4X1, 1st in 4X2, 2nd in 4X4. Mahoganie Rainge was the next big pointer for the JV squad placing 6th in long jump, 2nd in the 0pen 100M, and 2nd in the 4X1. JV also has an undefeated 4X2 team consisting of Hannah Wood, Annakate Wieters, Danica Bingham, and Dylan Presley.

Great job to all of the athletes that competed! The track team will travel to Jarrell March, 25th to compete in the Jarrell Cougar Relays.
